Description:

The 2007 Alerion 28 Express is one of the most elegant day sailors pioneered by the notable designer, Carl Schumacher...the elegance of his design makes us sailors instantly pause to admire such lines.    This beauty, named "SHOOTING THE BREEZE", delivers  outstanding performance under sail, and is specifically designed to be easily single and double handed. It's racing rating illustrates how fast this sailboat actually moves!    Furthermore, this class of boat is genuinely fun to sail at any age and can make decent speed without trying too hard, plus she points well. The Alerion 28E is a unique blend of a larger boat feel blended with small boat excitement and responsiveness. The cockpit is relatively dry considering the surprisingly low lay of the hull.
With a fin keel and spade rudder providing exceptional maneuverability and stability, the unique Jib boom brings off wind speed in a snap. The Alerion 28 is actually a direct descendent of Nathanial Herreshoff’s 1912 26-foot Alerion III and is a combination of the original Herreshoff lines blended with a modern underbody. The Alerion 28 Express was designed primarily as a "Gentleman's" day sailer/racer.  The cockpit is designed for more than two people. Interior amenities are basic, but there is a cute area for the bar lunch and new interior cushions and new white cockpit cushions.    This beautifully balanced boat sets the standard for the ideal day sailor.  It also has a great PHRF rating at 194.
(Cradle and trailer included)
Well maintained with many upgrades.   This boat was always sailed fresh water on Lake Geneva.  Titled in Wisconsin.
